Joe Ferry, Esq., Meet the Inspector Advocate Who Works to Protect Home Inspectors

January 17, 2009 by Joe Ferry

Joe Ferry is a Philadelphia lawyer with a national practice advising home inspectors on liability issues. He is a practicing trial attorney in Philadelphia and for the last two years has been touring the nation and Canada with the Law and Disorder Seminar, a four hour seminar in which home inspectors learn the tools and techniques for lowering their liability exposure and profile and for dealing effectively with any claim issues that arise from their practice. This acclaimed seminar has been approved by InterNACHI and ASHI for four continuing education credits, as well as the states of Massachusetts, New Jersey, Texas and Tennessee.

Joe is also the General Counsel for the InterNational Association of Certified Home Inspectors and has written extensively and lectured widely on the issues facing home inspectors in our litigious culture.

He created ClaimIntercept™, his proprietary method of early intervention to respond to potential E & O claims against home inspectors initiated by demand letters from both former clients of home inspectors and their attorneys, which has been adopted by the two largest insurance carriers serving the home inspector Errors and Omissions Insurance market.

He is a founding shareholder of EliteInspectInsure www.elitinspectinsure.com and a consultant to it on legal issues affecting the home inspector community.

Joe is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame and Temple University School of Law.  He is a former Army officer and holds a commercial pilot’s license with multi-engine and instrument ratings.
